In today's newsletter, we will be discussing the three major impacts that OpenAI GPT-4 has had on the software industry.
A) New distribution channel: ChatGPT Plugins
OpenAI's GPT-4 technology has paved the way for the development of advanced AI language models like ChatGPT, which can serve as a distribution platform for various applications. With over 100 million users and plugins, ChatGPT Plugins has become a new app store offering ample opportunities for distribution.
Like the app store in its early days, there is no advertising or winner-takes-all mentality, providing a level playing field for developers and businesses to reach their target audience.
B) Language as a New Interface
The advent of OpenAI GPT-4 has seen language emerge as a new interface for software applications. The advanced language processing capabilities of GPT-4 make it possible to interact with software using natural language, allowing for seamless task completion and information access.
C) 20x Operational Efficiency
OpenAI GPT-4 has also had a significant impact on the operational efficiency of software applications.
We are currently experimenting with Gitflash, a tool to leverage auto pipelines of GPT-4.
By leveraging GPT-4, Gitflash was able to automate the creation of a business plan, resulting in the generation of 23 Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), 68 Sub-OKRs, and the breakdown of these goals into 306 projects and 2,000 individual tasks. This process would have taken 4 weeks at my previous startup.
This translates to significant time and cost savings for organizations, allowing them to focus on more strategic initiatives.
